Page anatomy

What a custom small business website includes on every page.

Six things earn their place on a page that has to turn a stranger into a phone call. The wireframe holds every one of them.

yourcompany.ca
01 A headline that names the job and the townThe first line answers what you do and where, because a visitor arriving from a search has not yet decided this is the right business. It also gives search engines the two words your page should rank for.
02 Your phone number within thumb reachOn a phone the number is a tap, fixed where a thumb naturally sits, and repeated at the foot of every page. For most trades and shops this single element carries more work than the rest of the site combined.
03 Proof placed beside the askReviews and real photos sit next to the button rather than on a separate page nobody visits. Someone deciding whether to call wants the reassurance in the same glance as the decision.
04 One page per serviceEach service gets its own address rather than a shared list, because that is the page a search for that service can land on. This is the difference between one page competing for everything and five pages competing for one thing each.
05 Images inside a weight budgetEvery photo is sized and compressed before it ships. A hero image straight from a camera can outweigh an entire well-built site, and the visitor pays for it in waiting.
06 Structured data under the designBusiness details, services, and questions marked up so search engines and AI assistants can read them without guessing. Invisible to visitors and increasingly the thing that decides how you get quoted.
How it runs

From first call to a live website in five business days to two weeks.

Four stages, and billing does not begin until the last one is finished.

01 A short conversation What you do, where you work, who you want calling, and what you would rather never quote over the phone. Fifteen minutes is usually enough. About 15 minutes
02 We write and build it Copy drafted from that conversation, pages designed around it, photos sized, and the technical footing set up before you see anything. 5 business days to 2 weeks
03 You review a preview link A private address you can open on your own phone and send to whoever else needs a say. Two rounds of changes are part of the build. Two rounds included
04 Launch, and billing starts Domain pointed, SSL issued, listing matched, and the $800 build fee is invoiced after the site is live rather than before. The first monthly falls then too. $800, then $99/mo
Recent builds

Recent custom website projects from around the region.

Two builds with very different jobs to do, put together on the same footing.

01 · Restaurant · Middle Sackville, NS

A pizza shop whose customers order by phone

Old School Pizza needed the menu readable on a phone in about four seconds and the number one tap away, because the decision to order happens fast and usually while somebody is doing something else. The site leads with the deals and puts calling above everything.

02 · IT training · Halifax, NS

A training provider with a catalogue to explain

DCATT runs certification courses across cybersecurity, networking, and cloud, which is far more information than a single page can carry. The build gave the catalogue a structure people can navigate and left it straightforward to keep current as schedules change.

Common questions about custom website design.

Q.01

How custom is the design, really?

Every page is drawn and written for your business rather than dropped into a theme. There is no template underneath, which is why two Alp sites in the same trade do not resemble each other. What stays consistent is the underlying structure, because the things that make a site load quickly and rank properly work the same way everywhere.

Q.02

Can I supply my own copy and photos?

Yes, and it usually shortens the build. If you have photos of real work and text you are happy with, we use them. If you do not, we write the copy from a short interview about how you describe the job and what customers keep asking you, then you read it before launch and tell us what is wrong.

Q.03

What happens when I need more than five pages?

The Starter plan covers five, which suits most shops with a handful of services. Past that, the Lead Machine plan runs to fifteen pages and adds the quote estimator for trades. If you need more than fifteen, or the site starts behaving like software, that becomes a custom quote.

Q.04

Will it match my existing logo and colours?

Yes. If you have brand colours, a logo, signage, or a wrapped van, the site is built to sit alongside them so a customer recognises the same business. If your branding is thin or dated we will say so and work with what holds up rather than quietly redesigning your logo.

Q.05

Do you redesign an existing site or start fresh?

Usually fresh, because rebuilding on top of a slow theme keeps the problems that made you call. Your content, photos, page structure, and search history carry across, so a rebuild does not mean starting from nothing. If your current site is sound and only slow, site optimization is the cheaper answer and we will point you there.
